Owl Bot Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the Owl Discord bot.

What the bot does

Owl Bot provides utility and community features, including VK news reposting, post translation, private voice channel creation and management, polls, user information commands, server information commands, avatar commands, and text-to-speech in selected channels.

Data processed

The bot may process:

• Discord user IDs
• Discord usernames and server nicknames
• Discord roles
• Voice channel state and voice channel membership
• Private voice channel ownership and permissions
• User-selected members for private channel management
• User status and activity information for the /info and /server commands, if Presence access is enabled
• Message content in configured text-to-speech channels
• Direct messages sent to the bot
• Message attachments sent to the bot in direct messages

How data is used

Data is used only for:

• creating and managing private voice channels
• private channel permission controls
• user and server information commands
• polls
• text-to-speech playback
• forwarding direct messages to staff-only channels
• reposting and translating public VK posts

Data storage

Private voice channel ownership data may be kept temporarily in bot memory while the bot is running.

Direct messages to the bot may be forwarded to private staff-only Discord channels.

The bot may store public VK post IDs locally to avoid duplicate reposts.

External services

For text-to-speech, message content from configured TTS channels may be sent to a text-to-speech service to generate audio.

For public VK reposts, public VK post text may be sent to a translation service.

Discord user message content is not used by us to train AI models.

Data sharing

We do not sell user data.

Data is not shared with third parties except when required by law, necessary to operate the bot through Discord, or necessary for text-to-speech/translation features.

Message content and AI training

Message content is not used for machine learning or AI model training.

Data deletion

Users may request deletion of stored staff-log data by contacting the server administration.
